Spider mites are very small insects (from 1 mm to 2 mm) that weave webs and suck juices from plants. They can be of different colors: yellow-green, red, orange, white. At the beginning of the infection, you will see spider mites on the underside of the leaves – these are small dots that move. Leaves affected by a spider mite change color, yellow dots appear, and the leaves fall prematurely, then the mites are transferred to the entire plant, and it loses its appearance and dies.

Spider mites can spread to almost all indoor plants in a warm and dry place. The house rose is very prone to infection.

How to deal with a spider mite?

You can prevent the appearance of a spider mite by spraying the plant daily. If pests have already appeared, it is necessary to isolate the plant, put it in a cool place and use chemicals. preparations: acaricides or insectoacaricides – if necessary, spray twice.

The most harmless in apartment conditions are drugs of the avermectin group: Actofit, Fitoverm, Vermitek. These are very good drugs if used correctly. Unfortunately, they cannot attack the pest’s eggs, so repeat the treatment several times. The drugs are ineffective at temperatures below +19 °C. Also, keep them dissolved for more than a day.

At a temperature of +21 ° C, carry out a minimum of 3 treatments with an interval of 8 days.. At a temperature of +30 ° C – 3-4 treatments with an interval of 4-5 days. Otherwise, the new female has time to grow up (6-7 days at +30 ° C) and lay new eggs.

After the procedures, place the plant in quarantine indoors (away from other indoor plants in a shaded place). When the plant begins to regenerate, after about 3 weeks, put it in a permanent place.
